Hacking for health
Could you stay awake for 48 hours? That was the impressive feat managed by one participant in our first ever external hackathon, a two day event run by Tesco Labs to come up with innovative new apps or services related to consumer health. A mix of coders, designers and marketers from outside Tesco took part, and the competitors ranged from mums to a 15 year old! Take a look

“Victory went to the ‘Barcode Monsters’, who developed a simple but clever app for children. The app turns shopping into a game: children scan products in store, and depending on the nutritional content of the item they scan, the monster in the app gets happier or sadder and changes colour.”
